Stewards questioned driver E Barron regarding the reason she did not shift wider on the track once MODE, which she was following, had commenced to weaken rounding the final bend. Miss Barron explained that despite her efforts she was unable to shift out due to the gelding hanging inwards and trotting roughly, adding that OUR SUPERFUND had trotted roughly on several occasions during the running. Stewards noted the comments.

Stewards lodged a protest against 4th placing being awarded to the mare under Rule 870(3) and the Breaking Horses Regulation alleging ROSEANNA had broken in excess of 150m during the running. Connections did not contest the protest and ROSEANNA was disqualified by the Stewards.
